We are dedicated to helping each resident to be as independent and self-sufficient as possible, no matter what level of care they require. Amanda Palace, HFA, CDP, Executive Director
Born and raised in Fort Wayne, Amanda attended Indiana University Bloomington, where she earned a BS in Public Health Administration. Amanda has served in a variety of roles within the Senior Living industry before being formally licensed as a Health Facility Administrator in 2014. She has led several Senior Living communities in the Fort Wayne and surrounding areas and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience of Senior Living to Astral at Auburn. Outside of serving Seniors and her team, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family and friends, rooting for the Indiana Hoosiers, and outdoor activities such as hiking, running, and swimming. She is happily married to a Cate, who is also an Administrator in the Senior living, and they have raised 3 children successfully into adulthood and have one spoiled 5-year-old left at home.
Merissa Treft, Business Office Manager
Merissa started her career in Senior Living in 2012. She initially worked as CNA, QMA before shifting from clinical to operations. She attended Purdue Fort Wayne earning a BA in Psychology. Upon completion of her degree, Merissa has held several Assisted Living management roles over the past 4 years. Merissa has a strong background in Business Office and Human Resources which benefits the team and residents as they navigate into the community. Outside the office, Merissa enjoys spending time with her husband Justin and their 3 young children. Merissa also has a passion for baking and makes a very popular buttercream frosting for her specialty cakes which the team enjoy at every opportunity to celebrate!
Bobbie Lane, Director of Business Development
Bobbie was born and raised in Fort Wayne, IN. Bobbie has been in the Senior Living Industry for over 30 years. She began her career as a CNA, was an Activities Director, and Human Resource Director before moving into Marketing. She served as an Admissions and Marketing Director before moving to Minnesota to serve as a Regional Director of Marketing & Business Development. Bobbie is a strong relationship builder, in her role with Astral at Auburn she develops partnerships with referral partners, industry professionals and the community of Auburn and the surrounding areas. Outside of the office Bobbie serves with her husband as Co-Pastor of Covenant Life Worship Center in Fort Wayne, IN, she is also a conference speaker and mentor. Bobbie and her husband Bernard enjoy traveling and spending time with family, five children, and six grandchildren.
Kim Reynolds, CDP, Life Enrichment Director
Kim leads our programming built around residents and their spiritual, physical, social, and emotional well-being. For the past 27 years Kim has specialized in senior living. She began her a career as a Physical Therapist Assistant and served as a Memory Care Director before moving into a Life Enrichment role at Astral of Auburn. She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner as well as a Montessori Moments in Time trainer and has worked with the Alzheimer’s Association as a speaker and support group organizer for families with loved ones suffering from Alzheimer’s. In her free time Kim is an avid reader, freelance writer, and public speaker. She and her husband Brad have four children and one spoiled Shih Tzu.
Amber Arnold, CDM, Dining Services Director
Amber was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Amber brings to Astral at Auburn strong background in the Food Service industry as she has held a variety of roles, including waitress, Dietary aide, cook, and Dietary Manager. It was as a Dietary Aide that she discovered her passion in caring for the elderly, but it was not until 2014 when she was offered a Bistro cook position that she fell in love with food. She went on to receive her Certified Dietary Manager Certification in 2016 and began her career as Director of Dining Services. She loves her career path because it allows her the opportunity to bring people together through food while building meaningful relationships with the individuals she encounters. The dining experience at Astral at Auburn is complimented with her passion for caring for people. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, photography, reading, bodybuilding, and spending time with her family, 3 children, and cats.
Jessica Frost, BSN, RN, Resident Services Director
Jessica grew up in Auburn, Indiana and started her nursing career working locally as an LPN in the long-term care setting. She promoted to a leadership role as a unit manager in the geriatric setting for many years before obtaining her A.S. Nursing and then going on to obtain her B.S.N. from Western Governors University. Upon receiving her BSN, Jessica worked as a rounding nurse for a local geriatric specialist before starting her role at Astral. Jessica has dedicated the last 15 years of her nursing career to geriatrics and continuously strives to gain additional knowledge on best practices to ensure quality care for the residents at Astral at Auburn. She has a strong connection to the local community and relationships with the medical professionals in the area. Outside of work Jessica enjoys spending time with her family, 2 children, and 2 dogs. They enjoy traveling, fishing, and spending time at their outdoor oasis at home.
Mike Bentley, Plant Ops Director
Mike was born and raised in Kendallville, Indiana before moving to Rome City, Indiana with his wife and two children. Mike earned his AS in Business Management from Indiana Tech. Mike has spent the last 15 years in facility maintenance between the housing authority and Senior Living communities. Astral at Auburn residents and staff will benefit from Mike’s strong understanding of Facilities Management and a willingness to go the extra mile when facing a challenge. Outside of the community, Mike enjoys listening to and playing music, High School Football, rooting for the Green Bay Packers, spending time with his family, and motorcycles. Mike’s passion for music, sports, and fatherhood helps him to naturally connect with the residents and families while he ensures the community is beautiful and maintained for years to come.
